Local Area

The historic village of Poolewe is centred around the bridge crossing the mouth of the river Ewe. Fed by the mighty Loch Maree, the river is a landmark within the village. Home to ancient iron works, pictish stones and tales of Nordic Princesses. Corriness House is the perfect base; walk or cycle directly from the house to enjoy the sea, river Ewe, nearby woodland trails and lochs. With easy access to highland estates, where you can spot the fabulous local wildlife.

The National Trust’s Inverewe gardens are within a 15-minute walk from the house.

The Gardens, mountains and stunning beaches nearby, make Poolewe and Corriness House a must stay location for any North Coast 500 trip.
